It represents an increasingly important cause of human morbidity and mortality throughout the world. Vaccine development is thus of great importance in terms of global health. Oncolytic viruses are a novel class of anti-cancer agents which in many cases have entered clinical trials. These viruses are capable of attacking cancer cells in a distinctive manner leading to cell-specific and targeted tumor therapy.
